How to Install Beehive Forum via Softaculous in cPanel

Softaculous helps you install web applications easily. Please follow the steps below to install Beehive Forum.

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. In the Software section, click on Softaculous Apps Installer.
  3. cPanel will redirect you to the Softaculous interface.
  4. On the left side, locate the Forums category. Click on it and then click on the Beehive link that appears.
  5. Click on Install.
  6. Fill in the necessary fields under the Software Setup section:
    • Choose Installation URL: Select the appropriate protocol/domain.
    • In Directory: If you want to install this in a directory (e.g., example.com/directory), enter the directory name. Otherwise, leave it blank to install in your main domain (e.g., example.com).
  7. Enter the following details under the Site Settings section:
    • Default Forum Webtag: Enter a forum tag such as MyBeehive_Forum.
  8. Under the Admin Account section, enter the following information:
    • Admin Username: Your new Beehive username (for security reasons, do not use "administrator" or "admin").
    • Admin Password: Use a strong password.
    • Admin Email: Your email address. This is helpful for admin account password resets and notifications.

Note: Copy the admin username and password to Notepad. You will need these to access the admin area of your Beehive forum later.

  9. Advanced Options: Leave this section as is unless you want to change the database name or take an automated backup. Please note that creating frequent backups may take up a lot of disk space.
  10. Finally, scroll down to the end of the page and click on Install.
