How to create a hosting plan in WHM/cPanel
When creating packages or plans within WHM, you have the option to customize several different factors and features. For instance, you could create Package A with 20GB of storage while Package B has 50GB. This is especially useful if you plan on creating tiers among different hosting plans for your users.
Creating a Package in WHM
- Log in to WHM. This is typically found at
domain.com/whmordomain.com:2087. - Navigate to Packages > Add a Package.
- Enter the Package Name along with all the resource requirements you would like assigned to that particular hosting package. Below is a list of customizable resources along with their descriptions:
- Disk Space Quota: Amount of storage assigned to the hosting package.
- Monthly Bandwidth: Amount of bandwidth that the package is assigned.
- FTP Accounts: Number of FTP accounts the package can create.
- Email Accounts: Number of email accounts the package can create.
- Quota per Email Address: The storage allowed per email address.
- Mailing Lists: How many mailing lists the package can create.
- SQL Databases: The number of databases the package can create.
- Sub Domains: The number of sub-domains the package can create (e.g., sub.example.com).
- Parked Domains: The number of domains that package can park.
- Addon Domains: The number of extra domains that can be added to the hosting package.
- Locale: The default language of the cPanel account.
- Once you have configured all the settings, click on "Save" and your plan will be added to WHM. If needed, you can always edit it again at Packages > Edit a Package.
